The number of female fund managers in China reached 1,110, overseeing more than half of the industry's assets as of March 6, mainland media reported, citing data from Wind Information.
The public mutual fund industry currently has 4,150 active fund managers, of whom 1,110 are women, up 22 from 1,088 last year, accounting for about 26.7 percent of the total, the report said.
Funds managed or co-managed by female fund managers had assets under management of 18.95 trillion yuan (HK$21.53 trillion), representing 51.06 percent of the industry’s total AUM.
Funds solely managed by female fund managers amounted to 6.83 trillion yuan.
In terms of performance, among the funds managed or co-managed by female fund managers, 3,721 posted positive returns over the past year, accounting for about 83.35 percent.
Of these, 129 funds delivered returns of more than 50 percent, while 20 funds more than doubled in value.
