Hong Kong stocks once lost the 27,000-point mark in the morning trading session on Thursday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell through the 27,000 points near noon before closing by 242 points, or 0.9 percent, to 27,023 at noon.
The half-day market turnover was HK$127 billion.
The Hang Seng Tech Index declined by 1.7 percent to 5,407 points at noon.
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index rose by 0.12 percent to 4,137 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index grew by 0.8 percent to 14,274 points at the midday close.
