Hong Kong stocks were little changed by midday on Friday, while Shanghai stocks once rose to their highest levels in more than a decade.

The Hang Seng Index was up 8 points, or 0.03 percent, at 26,158 by midday, with turnover amounting to HK$135.2 billion. The China Enterprises Index edged up 3 points, or 0.04 percent, to 9,042. The Hang Seng Tech Index slipped 0.06 percent to 5,674.
In the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite Index briefly broke above the 4,100-point level, touching an intraday high of 4,121, its strongest level in over 10 years. The index was up 0.3 percent at 4,095 by midday.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.57 percent to 14,038 at the midday break.
