Hong Kong shares slumped but China stocks gained by midday on Monday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped by 287 points, or 1.1 percent to 25,797 points by noon. The half-day market turnover was HK$115.4 billion.
The Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.24 percent to 5,649 points at noon.
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index rose 0.62 percent to 3,927 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index gained 1.55 percent to 13,351 points at the midday close.
