Hong Kong stocks inch down at noon

Hong Kong stocks inched down by midday on Tuesday, giving up gains in the early morning trade.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped by 53 points, or 0.2 percent to 26,595 points by noon. The half-day market turnover was HK$118 billion. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.2 percent to 5,900 points at noon. 

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index declined by 0.38 percent to 4,003 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index decreased by 0.52 percent to 13,357 points at the midday close.
