China's foreign exchange reserves increased more than expected last month, official data showed on Tuesday, as the US dollar wobbled against other major currencies.
The country's foreign exchange reserves, the world's largest, were up US$16.5 billion (HK$128.7 billion) in September at US$3.339 trillion, versus a Reuters poll forecast of US$3.335 trillion. The reserves stood at US$3.322 trillion in August.
The yuan strengthened about 0.1 percent against the dollar last month, while the dollar lost 0.04 percent against a basket of other major currencies.
