AI will still "blow out" this year, said Baidu's Robin Li

Baidu (9888) expects artificial intelligence will continue to blow out this year, though a relevant super application have not yet appeared, said its chief Robin Li Yanhong.

In an internal letter, the tech giant’s founder, chief executive and chairman said the actual penetration rate of AI is already not low.

Li also said that only large-scale applications can help technology realize its value.

Baidu has been investing more than 20 percent of its capital in research and development for many years, and has spared no effort in trying to productize the most cutting-edge technologies so that more people can benefit from them, Li added.
