Hang Seng negative, Cathay Pacific and Air China drop

Stocks in Hong Kong ended the session in negative territory today. The benchmark Hang Seng Index finished at  25,049.73, down by 7.49 points, or 0.03 percent.

Shares in Cathay Pacific Airways (0293) closed lower at HK$8.60, down by 2.38 percent, after soaring in the morning.

Swire Pacific (0019), a major shareholder of Cathay Pacific Airways, was up by 0.32 percent at HK$47.00, while Air China (0753),  dropped by 1.85 percent at HK$5.30.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index closed at 2,943.75, down by 0.42 percent. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index was at 1,874.94, up by 0.30 percent.
