China calls on Finland to caution EU on trade restrictions

China's commerce minister said he hoped Finland could urge the European Union to use restrictive trade and economic tools with caution, as he met with the European country's prime minister in Beijing on Monday.

Minister Wang Wentao also called on Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo to jointly oppose protectionism and create a fair, open and predictable policy environment for Chinese companies' cooperation with Finnish and European enterprises, according to a statement released by China's commerce ministry.
