HSI dips below 20,000 points on tariffs threat

The Hang Seng Index fell below 20,000 points at the open as US President Donald Trump said he was still considering imposing 10 percent tariffs on China. 

The benchmark index fell more than 100 points to 19,997 at the open. The decline deepened to 200 points later. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index also opened 1 percent lower to 4,644 points.
