A Chinese district regulator says it is inspecting 45 Pizza Hut branches in Beijing after one was accused by media of food safety breaches.The chain run by Yum China came under scrutiny this week after the Beijing News reported two of its branches in Beijing allegedly had fake expiration dates on products and had reused cooking oil over 10 days.
The market regulator of Haidian district said that it had visited the branch in question and looked at records of food material purchases, storage and expiry dates.

Earlier, a Pizza Hut branch in Beijing was fined 50,000 yuan (HD$56,000) for using expired food materials. Pizza Hut has more than 2,600 branches in China.
