Father jumps onto tracks to shield toddler as train carriages pass overhead in Bangladesh miracle

A father in Bangladesh miraculously survived after jumping onto train tracks to shield his one-year-old son as eight carriages passed over them, when the train suddenly started moving as they were alighting at a station, local media reported.

The family was traveling on a Titas commuter train from Brahmanbaria to Bhairab. The train arrived at the station about 90 minutes late. As the father stepped off with his son, the train unexpectedly began moving again, causing the toddler to slip from his arms and fall into the narrow gap between the platform and the carriage.

Without hesitation, the father jumped onto the tracks, covering his son with his body as the train continued moving. Video footage shows the father pressing the child against the ground and platform wall, seeking refuge in the space beneath the train. At least eight carriages passed over them.
