A 20-year-old distant cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry of the British royal family, Rosie Roche, was found dead with a firearm nearby in her family home in Norton, Wiltshire last week.
Reports indicated that Roche was found dead by her mother and sister on July 14 after she was packing for a vacation with friends.
An obituary published in the Yorkshire Post last Saturday announced the death of Roche, describing her as a darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa and an incredible sister to Archie and Agatha. It also added that the family plan a private funeral with a memorial service to follow at a later date.
A spokesperson noted that Roche will be sorely missed by Princes William and Harry.
An inquest into Roche's death was opened at Wiltshire and Swindon coroner's court and adjourned until October 25. The area coroner indicated that police deemed the death non-suspicious, with no third party involvement.
Born on June 21, 2005, Roche was the granddaughter of late Edmund Roche, 5th Baron Fermoy, an uncle of Princess Diana, who tragically took his own life in 1984.
She was a student at Durham University, where she was majoring in English Literature.
Another tragic passing in the royal family
Roche's death comes after the sudden passing of Thomas Kingston, the husband of the royal cousin Lady Gabriella Windsor, who was found dead at the age of 45 with a gun nearby last February.
The cause of his death was confirmed to be a head injury, with the coroner attributing it to an adverse reaction to prescribed medication.
Speaking at the inquest, Gabriella expressed her belief that her husband's death was likely influenced by the medication he had taken in the weeks prior.
