American movie actress Kelly Preston has died aged 57. "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer," husband and actor John Travolta, 66, wrote on Instagram.
Born Kelly Kamalelehua Smith in Honolulu on October 13, 1962, Preston secured a first film role in the 1985's Mischief.
She went on to star in films including Twins with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.
In Jerry Maguire she played Tom Cruise's fiancee then co-starred with Kevin Costner in For Love of the Game.
Preston last starred in 2018's Gotti as wife of Mafia boss John Gotti, played by Travolta.
Travolta met Preston in 1988 when they were in The Experts. They married on September 5, 1991, in Paris.
Besides Travolta, Preston is survived by daughter Ella, 20, and son Benjamin, 9. Son Jett died aged 16 in 2009 during a family vacation in the Bahamas.
"I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you," Ella wrote.
