Japanese 'super-ageing' beauty, 64, marries man 32 years her junior

A 64-year-old Japanese woman has become a social media sensation for her relationship with her 32-year-old husband, a 32-year age gap that has captivated thousands online.

Kurata Ritsuko, known for her youthful appearance, met her future husband in a Tokyo cafe in summer 2020. After a chance encounter involving a forgotten mobile phone, the pair met again on a train in Ikebukuro, leading to an exchange of contact details and a rapid romance.

Despite their strong connection, Kurata struggled with insecurities about their age difference. She admitted to repeatedly suggesting they break up, fearing her husband would be disappointed as she aged. However, his persistence and reassurance gradually helped her overcome her doubts.

After dating for two years and three months, the couple officially married on Christmas Eve 2022. Kurata noted with relief that her husband's family fully accepted the relationship.

The couple now shares their daily life on Instagram, posting photos of travels and meals together, often accompanied by Kurata's 39-year-old son from a previous marriage. The images show a warm, blended family dynamic.
