Australian police are investigating the identity of a woman who reported to a police station last week claiming to be Chinese heiress Yang Lanlan, 23, who was charged with drink-driving and briefly fleeing the scene in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in July last year.
The woman arrived in a black Rolls-Royce Phantom convertible last Wednesday, wearing a Chanel top and jeans. She identified herself as Yang at the front desk, removed her mask for photo comparison, and left with bail documents.
A journalist noticed discrepancies in facial features, posture and habits compared to previous sightings. The woman was also using a newer iPhone, unlike Yang's known Samsung Android phone.

When asked if she was Yang, the woman calmly replied: “I am someone else.” She declined to give her name. This contrasted with Yang’s past behavior of refusing to speak and fleeing from journalists.
Reports suggest the real Yang may not have been seen at her Watsons Bay penthouse since October, with someone else now living there. Police are investigating the reporting woman’s identity and whether Yang has complied with bail conditions to reside at the address.
