Happy Sunday! Day time and Japan at Happy Valley this weekend

Hong Kong racing fans are in for a rare treat this Sunday, November 2, when Happy Valley Racecourse welcomes fans for a special daytime meeting — a rare chance to experience the city’s most iconic venue in full daylight.

The occasion marks the start of the Happy Wednesday–Japanese Festival, held in conjunction with the Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong 2025, with celebrations continuing on November 5, 12, and 19.

Alongside ten high-class races, there’s plenty happening off the track. Fans can enjoy authentic Japanese food and drinks, including Kirin beer and sake, while soaking up the atmosphere with live J-pop performances and traditional cultural experiences such as yukata photo booths.

Happy Valley is world-famous for its Wednesday-night racing under lights, but a day meeting at the Valley offers something truly unique — sunlight glinting off the rails, a relaxed crowd, and the perfect blend of sport, culture, and community.
