The organizer of Taiwanese rock band Mayday's concerts announced late Wednesday that a 40-minute "special rehearsal session" will be held to compensate ticket holders for the scrapped opening night performance.
The decision follows the abrupt cancellation of Mayday's March 24 concert at Kai Tak Sports Park, leaving many fans disappointed.
Ticket holders affected by the cancellation are invited to attend the special rehearsal, with the organizer promising full refunds, no matter whether they attended the special session or not. Additional information will be announced on Thursday.
The Customs said it will investigate possible violations of the Trade Descriptions Ordinance in connection with the cancellation. As of 5pm on Wednesday, the Consumer Council had received 111 complaints, involving over HK$296,000.
Mayday was originally set to perform at Kai Tak Sports Park on March 24, 25, 27, and 28, with tickets priced between HK$555 and HK$1,855. However, the organizer on Monday (Mar 9) announced via social media that an additional concert would be held on March 29 to mark the band's 29th anniversary, and that the March 24 opening night would be canceled.
