Police Disaster Victims Identification Unit (DVIU) personnel returned to Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po on Monday to continue the third day of search operations.
It is understood that the team, wearing full protective gear, entered Wang Cheong House and Wang Sun House, the first two buildings affected by the tragic fire.
Personnel were permitted to commence the search in Wang Cheong House by 10.30am, after engineers confirmed that there were no structural issues with either building.
The search aims to locate human remains, bodies, or ashes and to assist in identification by examining personal belongings found near the deceased, as well as through physical characteristics and DNA analysis, among other methods.
Several firefighters also arrived at the scene to carry out investigations, with multiple fire trucks stationed nearby.
The death toll from the tragic fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po has risen to 146, with 79 injured and 54 bodies still awaiting identification.
