Pedestrian pulled under garbage truck outside Tuen Mun mall

A woman was hospitalized on Tuesday morning after she was struck by a refuse truck and trapped underneath the vehicle in Tuen Mun.

The accident occurred at around 10.12am outside H.A.N.D.S mall on Oi Yung Street. Police said a refuse truck hit a woman who was crossing the road, pulling her under the vehicle and leaving her pinned beneath it.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene and worked to free the victim. She was rescued shortly afterward with injuries to her head and legs. Authorities said she remained conscious and was taken by ambulance to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
