The book fair will conclude on its last day at 5 pm, with several exhibitors offering discounts of up to 35 percent in the morning.
Many citizens seized the final opportunity to attend. Numerous exhibitors reduced prices, hoping to clear their stock quickly.
Some offered discounts of 35 percent, while others featured special sections where three books were priced at HK$100. Some vendors promoted a "buy more, save more" strategy to attract customers, with students taking advantage of the deals.
Some visitors even bring suitcases with them for the last-minute bargains, while some parents plan to spend HK$1,000 on books for their children.
The seven-day event was affected by Typhoon Wipha, which caused it to close on Sunday. Some exhibitors estimated that business was slightly down compared to last year.
Ng, an exhibitor, mentioned that a book signing event originally scheduled for Sunday had been moved to today, but she anticipated a lower turnout compared to Sunday, which made her feel disappointed.
"Initially, we aimed for stable sales, and a slight increase now is already a good sign," Alva Au Lai-yee, Deputy General Manager of Cosmos Books, stated. "We hope to explore new ways to promote our books and conduct promotional activities after the fair."
