The results for the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) for 48,011 participating students will be announced on Tuesday (Jul 8), according to the Education Bureau.
The bureau noted that the overall satisfaction rate has increased to 95 percent, based on the total number of students allocated discretionary places (DP) and those who received their first three choices through central allocation (CA).
The satisfaction rate for students allocated DP and their first choice through CA stands at 85 percent, reflecting a 6 percent year-on-year increase.
About 68 percent of students allocated DP received their first choice, the bureau said.
For students allocated through CA, 91 percent were placed in one of their top three choices, with 74 percent securing their first choice.
Meanwhile, all students must report to their allocated secondary schools for registration on Thursday or Friday.
The bureau expressed hopes that parents and students would accept the results with a positive attitude. The learning effectiveness of students does not hinge merely on the allocated schools but rather on the mindset in learning.
It is essential for parents to continue supporting and encouraging their children, while avoiding burdening them with their own expectations, it added.
