Hiker dies after fainting on Wilson Trail

A 69-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital after he was found unconscious on the Wilson Trail in Tsz Wan Shan Wednesday morning.

At around 9.15am, the police received a report from a hiker as he found a middle-aged man lying unconscious at Section 5 of the Trail. 

The paramedic then notified the Government Flying Service to airlift the man, surnamed Ho, to Eastern Hospital for emergency treatment.

Medical staff performed CPR on Ho throughout the rescue, but Ho was pronounced dead at 10.59am.

It was learned that Ho started his hike from Shui Chuen O in Sha Tin, heading towards Wong Tai Sin.

The cause of the death is pending autopsy.
