As the Lunar New Year approaches, shopping malls across Hong Kong are gearing up for festive celebrations that blend tradition with modern creativity. This year, MCP, MOSTown, Lee Gardens, and D·PARK are pulling out all the stops to offer unique experiences filled with promotions, activities, and vibrant decorations.
MOSTown and MCP: a LEGO wonderland
Henderson’s flagship mall in Ma On Shan, MOSTown, is ushering in the Year of the Snake with an exciting collaboration with the LEGO Group.
The ‘MOSTown x LEGO® New Year Fortune Garden’ features Hong Kong’s largest LEGO® flower bed, boasting 6,888 blossoms crafted from the LEGO® Botanical collection. This auspicious number is a homophone for ‘fortune,’ making it a centerpiece of good luck for visitors.
The installation is complemented by four photogenic dioramas, including a giant 2-meter-tall Maneki Neko (lucky cat) and LEGO® butterflies. Additionally, interactive game zones provide entertainment for all ages. LEGO® enthusiasts can explore the ‘LEGO® New Year pop-up store’, which offers a selection of 2025 novelties, including a special collection for the festive season.
Another major shopping mall, MCP in Tseung Kwan O, is also transforming into the ‘LEGO® New Year Playground’ until February 16. Visitors will be greeted by adorable LEGO® characters and five interactive photo spots and game zones!
A highlight is the four-meter-tall ‘MCP Fortune Pinball Game’, designed to elevate luck, alongside the ‘Maneki Neko Mansion’ and a ‘Fortune Wishing Pool’ under a massive LEGO® Peach Tree.
In addition to these festivities, MCP will host a New Year Market until January 28, featuring a curated selection of gifts and goodies. The ‘Vibrant Bouncing Paradise’ will also open until January 28, offering a giant inflatable playground for children. Local buskers will add to the atmosphere with live performances during the weekends.
Lee Gardens: a creative celebration
Lee Gardens is embracing the Lunar New Year with the ‘Bang! Pop! Spark! Party’, featuring a blend of traditional and modern festivities.
From January 27 to 31, Causeway Bay will host a vibrant array of activities, including the ‘Hawkers Run’, mahjong competitions, and a New Year market.
The shopping area will come alive with interactive games like the ‘Lee Gardens Street Game’ and various entertainment options. Unique offerings such as fortune-telling, Tarot readings, and a Chill Zone for adults add to the festive spirit.
Additionally, the ‘Lee Gardens CNY Shopping Rewards’ program offers customers rewards valued over HK$12,000, providing an extra incentive to shop during the popular Spring Festival!
D·PARK: Panda mania
D·PARK in Tsuen Wan is celebrating the Year of the Snake with the ‘PANDA GO! Hong Kong Tour’—the largest panda-themed exhibition in the city.
Running until March 6, over 800 panda sculptures will be displayed, some dressed in festive attire. This thematic exhibition promises to delight visitors of all ages with its playful designs.
In addition, D·PARK is hosting the ‘Panda Art Paradise’ New Year event until February 16. The mall’s indoor grassy area will be transformed into a panda art paradise. The area will feature six distinct panda-themed zones: an art exhibition, a children’s theater, an art jam session, a yoga studio, a mindfulness art workshop, and panda-themed nostalgic games.
