The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will open a diverse range of leisure facilities for public use free of charge on "Sport For All Day 2025," which is scheduled for August 3.
As Hong Kong will co-host the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games with Guangdong and Macau for the first time, the theme of Sport For All Day is set as "Coalescing together for the National Games" to garner public support for this significant event.
Facilities include badminton courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, squash courts, table tennis tables, fitness rooms, activity rooms, dance rooms, tennis courts, bowling greens, archery ranges, golf facilities, public swimming pools and water sports centers (craft hiring) will be open to the public free of charge.
Designated sports centers across the 18 districts will also host a series of free recreation and sports programs on the same day from 2pm to 6pm, including fitness items, health talks, sports demonstrations and fun activities for the public, to promote National Games' sports items.
The arrangements for booking free leisure facilities and free recreation and sports programs coupons will be announced in mid-July.
LCSD said it will continue to cooperate with the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China and work with the China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee to launch activities at the Sport For All Day 2025 prime venue.
A number of organizations will also open their venues or hold recreational and sports activities on August 3 for free public participation.
