A passenger suffered burns from hot water on an HK Express flight after a child in front of him kept jumping in the seat, but instead of receiving an apology, he faced a barrage of insults from the child's parents.

The man recounted the incident recently on Facebook, explaining that his hand became red and swollen, requiring medical attention after the child caused hot water to spill during his journey back to Hong Kong from Phu Quoc Island.

He was met with foul language when he confronted the child’s mother, further escalating the situation.

Parents’ verbal violence

In a video shared on a social media post, the child’s mother was seen cursing at the victim, while a flight attendant attempted to intervene. Another clip showed her turning to the victim's parents and telling them to "shut up”.

The man criticized the child’s mother for verbally abusing him rather than taking responsibility for the antisocial behavior of the child.

Following the incident, the victim appeared on the TV program "Scoop," where he mentioned that the child's father joined in with the verbal violence, with both parents hurling insults.

The post noted that the child was constantly jumping, which caused his laptop to fall multiple times before the plane took off. The child started leaping again after the victim ordered a cup of instant noodles, causing hot water to spill onto his hand.

Sharing a photo of his bandaged hand, the man mentioned that staff eventually arranged for him to sit in the last row of the aircraft, where crew members assisted him in dealing with the injury.

The post quickly garnered online attention, with many commenters urging him to report the incident to the police. However, the poster noted he could not do so as the parents did not physically harm him during the encounter.
