The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority is preparing to launch the second phase of the eMPF platform on March 5, according to MPFA chairman Ayesha Macpherson Lau.

The eMPF platform was launched in June last year, aiming to centralize and digitalize all MPF schemes' administrative processes.
Five MPF schemes have transitioned to the eMPF since last year, with nearly 200,000 transactions processed during the initial phase. Two-thirds of these instructions were conducted digitally, Lau said in a blog post yesterday.
Lau pointed out that the digital usage rate for submission of contribution data and change of investment was 80 percent.
Under the second phase, the contractor will increase its manpower by 60 percent this year to enhance the operational efficiency and quality of the eMPF, Lau said.She also said that the contractor will gradually set up eMPF support stations in various districts across Hong Kong.
MPFA managing director Cheng Yan-chee said that as of mid-February, about 100,000 employees and 8,000 employers have registered for eMPF, and that the eMPF app has been downloaded more than150,000times.
