China examines foreign trades in its ETF market, Bloomberg News reports

China is examining how Jane Street and other foreign ETF firms participate in its US$859 billion (HK$6.7 trillion) exchange-traded fund market, Bloomberg News reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Chinese regulators are keen to understand trading patterns in the industry, especially after a crackdown on Jane Street in India, Bloomberg said.

Jane Street noted that it operated business as normal across various asset classes with global trading counterparts, including UBS.
