China vows 'necessary measures' after new U.S. export blacklist expansion

China's commerce ministry expressed on Monday "strong opposition" to the U.S. expanding its restricted export list and vowed to take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.

The U.S. on Monday cracked down on companies in China and other countries that use subsidiaries to get around curbs on chipmaking equipment and other technology.

In a statement, the Chinese commerce ministry urged Washington to "immediately correct its wrongful action" and stop its "unreasonable suppression of Chinese enterprises."
