JD Logistics (2618) reported its net profit for the first quarter surged 89.14 percent year-on-year to 450.96 million yuan (HK$488 million), thanks to the revenue growth.
The company's revenue amounted to 47 billion yuan, up 11.5 percent, approximately 31.3 percent of it came from JD.com (9618), while the remaining 68.7 percent was generated from external customers.
The revenue from integrated supply chain rose by 13.2 percent to 23.2 billion yuan, supported by an increase in customers to 63,061. Meanwhile, other customers increased by 9.8 percent to 23.8 billion yuan, primarily driven by the increase in express delivery and freight delivery services.
Since the 10th self-operated all-cargo airplane of JD airlines officially commenced operation in January, its international route network currently covers countries such as South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia, the filing said.
