US-China trade talks yield 'balanced, beneficial' outcomes, says state-linked commenter

The decreases in tariffs and 90-day pauses are “balanced and beneficial” for both China and the United States, says Chinese state-backed social media account Yuyuan Tantian, referring to the results of the past weekend's trade talks in Switzerland.

Chinese and US trade negotiation teams will communicate with each other on trade issues on a regular and irregular basis, Yuyuan Tantian added. The time and locations of future discussions will be determined by both parties.

The Chinese media outlet linked to state broadcaster CCTV also emphasized that any achievements that may be reached must be in the interest of China's own development, citing unidentified sources.

This claim echoes Beijing’s previous stance that no deals would be made at the cost of the country’s interest.
