Xiaomi (1810) overtook its rivals to become the top smartphone vendor in China in the first quarter of 2025, thanks to strengthening brand momentum and strong product competitiveness, according to market research firm Canalys.
The company captured a 19 percent market share, up 5 percentage points from a year earlier, with shipments soaring 40 percent year-on-year to 13.3 million units – the strongest growth among the top five brands.
Huawei ranked second with an 18 percent share and 13 million units shipped, up 12 percent from a year ago. Oppo and Vivo followed in third and fourth place, each securing a 15 percent market share. Oppo’s shipments slipped 3 percent while Vivo saw a slight 2 percent increase.
Apple fell to fifth place, with a 13 percent share and 9.2 million units shipped, representing an 8 percent year-on-year decline.
