Hong Kong stocks extend losses

Hong Kong stocks extended Thursday's loss and opened more than 100 points lower on Friday morning.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened at 24,109 points, down 110 points.

The Hang Seng Tech Index stood at 5,799 points at the opening, down 0.6 percent.

BYD (1211) opened 2.6 percent lower at HK$413.00 and once dropped nearly 6 percent from the previous close.

Alibaba (9988) opened 1.4 percent lower at HK$133.60 and narrowed the loss to 0.74 percent.

Tencent (0700) opened 0.3 percent lower at HK$518.00, while food-delivery platform Meituan (3690) opened 0.5 percent higher at HK$168.90 before the result announcement.
