The Lunar New Year remains one of the most important festivals for Hongkongers despite the onslaught of the pandemic.
As the festive celebration builds up, the twelve major shopping malls managed by Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) – including East Point City, Mikiki, and PopWalk – are launching a Chinese New Year Redemption Programme to usher in the Year of the Ox.
Four types of rewards worth more than one million Hong Kong dollars are on offer, namely “Lucky Red Packet Redemption”, “Consumption Reward”, “Valentine’s Day Gift Redemption” and “Gourmet Discount Offer”.
Each mall has prepared a series of rewards and auspicious gifts for consumers. East Point City, Mikiki, and PopWalk, for instance, have rolled out Toy Story-themed red packets and collection sets.
With citizens out in force snapping up New Year goods, the 12 shopping malls are offering a variety of consumption rewards to seize the golden opportunity. East Point City, in particular, will give out shopping coupons and more than 2,000 lucky bags.
As for Valentine’s Day, which coincides with the third day of this Lunar New Year, an eclectic range of chocolate, wine and beauty sets are available for pampering both the men and ladies.
There are also dining discounts, rebates, and bonus points reward covering both dine-in and takeaway. At Mikiki, patrons dining at designated restaurants will receive free coupons for shopping malls and merchants upon a specific amount of consumption.
“Demand and appetite remain strong for festive and meaningful consumer goods amidst the pandemic,” says Fiona Chung, Director of Sun Hung Kai Real Estate (Sales and Leasing) Agency Limited.
“We hope the programme will help drive the average monthly increase of 8 to 10 percent in customer flow, and stimulate sales to a monthly increase of 5 to 8 percent.”
