Chinese authorities said 952 Chinese nationals suspected of telecom and online fraud were repatriated from Myanmar after a joint operation with Myanmar and Thai law enforcement targeted scam compounds in the Myawaddy region.
The Ministry of Public Security said the latest crackdown, part of ongoing efforts this year, has brought the total number of Chinese suspects repatriated from Myawaddy to over 7,600.
It said 494 buildings linked to fraud at the infamous KK Park compound have been demolished, and the Asia-Pacific New City scam hub has been completely cleared. The alleged mastermind behind the Asia-Pacific operation, She Zhijiang, was extradited from Thailand to China in November.

Since October, Myanmar authorities have launched a new round of raids in Myawaddy, making arrests and demolishing scam compounds. From December 15 to 19, a joint China-Myanmar-Thailand police working group inspected the sites to assess the crackdown's effectiveness and plan further actions.
