2 women injured in hotel knife attack in Macau's Taipa, one dies

A woman has died and another was hospitalized after a knife attack in a hotel room in Macau's Taipa district on Thursday afternoon.

Judicial Police received reports around 4pm of a serious assault in a hotel room. Both women in their 30s, holding Hong Kong and Macau travel permits, were rushed to Centro Hospitalar Conde de São Januário for treatment.

One woman succumbed to stab wounds despite emergency treatment, while the other suspect sustained injuries during the incident and remains hospitalized under police guard.

Initial investigation indicates the two women were together in the hotel room when an argument escalated, leading one to attack the other with a knife. The motive and relationship between the women remain under investigation.
