Zhongguan Village, dubbed “China’s Silicon Valley, ” will hold its annual technology forum from March 27 to 31, attracting over 1,000 participants from some 100 countries and regions around the world.
In a press conference on Thursday, China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology Lin Xin said the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) will focus on frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, biopharmacy and 6G.
When asked about the challenges facing global technological cooperation, Lin reiterated China’s commitment to the opening up of international cooperation in the science and technology sector.
She said the Chinese government will further expand technological cooperation with civil enterprises, encourage foreign companies to conduct research and development in China, with more convenient measures for foreigners working and living in the country.
This year’s event in Beijing carries the theme “new quality productive forces and global technological cooperation,” featuring 128 events, including seminars, launch parties and tech competitions.
The ZGC Forum will unveil China’s top 10 scientific advances in the opening ceremony. It will also highlight the application of humanoid robots, including roles such as reception, communication, hosting, performing, and providing services.
Zhongguancun was once a sparsely populated town in northwestern Beijing in the 1980s. It later transformed into an electronics industry cluster, and then was elevated to become a national-level innovation hub.
It has held the ZGC Forum since 2007.
