A traveler was arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs at the Luohu Port via his rectum, resulting in the seizure of methamphetamine and heroin.
According to an announcement by mainland customs on Wednesday, an incoming male traveler acted suspiciously during customs clearance, leading the officers to intercept him for further inspection.
A block-shaped object wrapped in transparent tape was found inside his body, containing four packets of drugs.
Two of the packets were later confirmed to contain methamphetamine weighing 1.71 grams, while the other two were heroin weighing 1.26 grams.
Mainland customs reminds the public that anyone who smuggles or transports drugs, regardless of the quantity, is subject to criminal penalties and prosecutions.
