A six month old infant, the baby's parents, and a domestic helper are among four more people who are confirmed to be infected with the deadly Wuhan coronavirus in Singapore.
On Wednesday China teported that a 30-hour-old infant born in a children's hospital in Wuhan, was infected with the new coronavirus.
The latest infections in Singapore from the novel coronavirus have been confirmed, the Ministry of Health said yesterday, state broadcasetr Channel News Asia reports..
As of Wednesday noon, 28 people in Singapore have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Of the four infectections, three are linked to the cluster of local transmission announced on Tuesday, and one is an imported case involving a Chinese tourist from Wuhan.
With yesterday's new cases, the local transmission cluster includes seven confirmed cases.
Among them, two are family members of a 28-year-old woman - a confirmed case announced on Tuesday - who works at Yong Thai Hang, a health product shop that primarily serves Chinese tourists. The two new cases have no recent travel history to China.
One of them is the woman's husband. The 45-year-old male Singaporean was tested positive on Wednesday at about 2pm, and is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.
The couple's child, a six-month-old male Singaporean was tested positive at the same time and is currently warded in an isolation room at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The family's domestic helper was one of the confirmed cases on Tuesday.
