The benchmark Hang Seng Index stood at 24,276 points by noon, about 316 points higher than the previous close.
The half-day main board turnover amounted to HK$141.77 billion.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index increased by 85 points, or about 1 percent, to 8,963 points by the noon break.
The Hang Seng Tech Index edged down 0.03 percent, or 1 point, to 5,879 points.
Mainland equities indicator CSI 300 Index dipped about 4 points, or 0.11 percent, to 4,001.98 points.
Tencent (0700) gained 1.44 percent to HK$529.00 ahead of its 2024 earnings to be released on Wednesday.
Xiaomi (1810) rose 1.76 percent to HK$54.80 and Meituan (3690) climbed 2.6 percent to HK$177.90.
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (0388) grew 4.12 percent to HK$368.80, as AIA (1299) increased 3.27 percent to HK$63.25, and Ping An (2318) gained 2.54 percent to HK$50.40.
EV shares delivered a mixed performance. BYD (1211) increased 0.93 percent to HK$389.40, and XPeng (9868) gained 0.05 percent to HK$92.15. Li Auto (2015), however, slipped 6 percent to HK$106.40.
