The Hong Kong Palace Museum will host an exhibition of ancient Egyptian artifacts in November, showcasing a total of 250 items, which it expects to attract up to 700,000 visitors.
The special exhibition, "The Great Exhibition of Ancient Egyptian Civilization: Treasures from the Egyptian Museum" will be launched on November 20.
Featuring 250 significant archaeological finds from seven major Egyptian museums, the exhibition will run till August 31, 2026.
The museum will also showcase a selection of ancient Chinese artifacts.
The HKPM signed a collaboration agreement on Thursday with the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt.
Ticket sales arrangements for the exhibition will be announced in August.
Louis Ng Chi-wa, museum director of the HKPM, said that ticket prices will be affordable for the public. He expects the exhibition to attract between 600,000 and 700,000 visitors.
