US's Bessent: Imagine next US-China meeting in next few weeks

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Monday he believed U.S. and China negotiators will meet again in the coming weeks to discuss a more detailed trade agreement, but he was not clear on when another meeting might take place.

In an interview with CNBC after initial talks in Switzerland, Bessent said the U.S. was not looking to decouple its entire economy from China but will aim to protect its steel and semiconductor industries.
