Thailand's pounce on porn draws hot views

Thailand's government said yesterday it had banned Pornhub and 190 other websites showing pornography.

Digital minister Puttipong Punnakanta said the block was among efforts to restrict access to porn and gambling websites.

But many users criticized the decision to try to shut off porn in a country with an extensive sex industry.

Activist group Anonymous Party posted a statement saying people are entitled to choices, while another group called for a demonstration.

And some people questioned if the ban was because the site featured compromising royal images.
