A 27-year-old circus performer died after falling during a trapeze act at Paul Busch Circus in Bautzen, eastern Germany, on Saturday.
Marina B, a Spanish acrobat, plummeted during her solo performance in front of more than 80 spectators. Parents reportedly covered their children's eyes as screams filled the tent.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene but were unable to save her. The performer was not wearing a safety rope during the accident.
Ralf Huppertz, chairman of the Association of German Circus Companies, suggested the artist might have experienced dizziness before the fall from approximately five meters.

The circus announced closure due to "bereavement" following the incident. Crisis intervention teams were deployed to support affected guests and staff.
Marina B, from Mallorca, had previously expressed pride in her profession, describing each show as "an opportunity to share my passion." Her final Instagram post showed her performing with the caption: "Up here, I work best."
Authorities continue investigating the circumstances of the fall.
