Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (0388) chief executive Bonnie Chan Yi-ting said that now is a good time for foreign investors to increase their exposure to Chinese assets.
Speaking at the 2025 Lujiazui Forum, Chan noted that overseas participation in China's equity and bond markets remains relatively low, leaving ample room for growth. As the perceived safety of US dollar assets comes under pressure, global investors are rebalancing their portfolios, with renminbi-denominated assets drawing growing attention.
She added that mainland exchanges will step up efforts this year to attract foreign investment funds, and whether through Hong Kong stocks, A-shares, or other channels, all paths will play a key role in bringing in overseas capital.
She emphasized that as global investors reposition their allocations, it is crucial to broaden the product range and enhance supporting risk management tools.
