Mark Newnham is confident My Wish is in fine form ahead of his final trial before his first Group 1 assignment in next weekend's FWD Champions Mile.
The four-year-old, who fell agonizingly short of BMW Hong Kong Derby (2,000 meters) glory when he came with a late burst under Luke Ferraris, will take to the Sha Tin dirt on Thursday morning for his final trial before the marquee event.
"Everything is looking good," Newnham told The Standard. "He trials on Thursday on the dirt and that's his usual in between races. The only time I didn't do that was for the Derby because that was a three-week turnaround."
Thursday will be a bumper morning for the local contingent at Sha Tin, with Ka Ying Rising also heading out onto the dirt for his final trial before the G1 Chairman's Sprint Prize (1,200m).
Trainer David Hayes confirmed the world's highest-rated sprinter is "in good nick" before his final start of the season.
Meanwhile, the first of the international runners touched down at Sha Tin yesterday.
Japanese raiders Danon McKinley and Liberty Island arrived from Dubai on Monday afternoon, while Mr Brightside was due to arrive late last night.
