Andrea Atzeni's calm, ground-saving ride on Gold Master was the first of two wins on the day for the jockey (he later scored on Noisy Boy).

The result also gave trainer Manfred Man Ka-leung, pictured left, the first of two victories.

Atzeni went from gate seven to three back on the fence with a rails-hugging effort on the outsider that got the better of some more fancied rivals.

The Italian jockey has 18 wins and is eighth in the jockeys' championship.
