Midland chief executive steps down

Daniel Wong Hon-shing has resigned as executive director and chief executive of Midland IC&I (0459).

The company made an announcement yesterday that Wong has tendered his resignation as executive director, chief executive officer, a member of the executive committee, chairman of the risk committee and an authorized representative of the company, in order to pursue other personal commitments. It added that Wong has no disagreement with the board and he will act as a consultant serving the group after the resignation.

Wong had been chief executive officer of the company since 2011. He joined the Midland group in 1994 and had worked for the Midland IC&I since 2006.

Tony Lo Chin-ho, director of the shops division of the property agency business of the group, will take on the position of chief executive officer. Meanwhile, Wong Chung-Kwong has also been appointed as an independent non-executive director, while Joel Mui Ngar-may and Sze Ka-ming have been appointed as authorized representatives.
