Six people were injured in a collision involving two private cars and a taxi on Tseung Kwan O Road in Lam Tin on Wednesday night.
The accident occurred around 10pm as the vehicles were heading towards the Tseung Kwan O Tunnel near Tsui Ping South Estate. Other motorists, concerned that people might be trapped, alerted emergency services.
Firefighters and paramedics arrived and confirmed no one was trapped. Six people sustained injuries but remained conscious. They were taken to hospitals by ambulances for treatment.
Police managed traffic at the scene and are investigating the cause of the crash. Following the incident, the Transport Department temporarily closed some lanes on Tseung Kwan O Road towards the tunnel near Tsui Ping South Estate, causing heavy traffic and queues in the area.
