The Hong Kong Science Museum is set to unveil three new permanent exhibition galleries this Friday (Feb 6), offering visitors an immersive journey into the technologies shaping tomorrow’s world.
The exhibition galleries are Living Tech Gallery, InnoTech Gallery, and AI Gallery.
The Living Tech Gallery brings technology's impact on everyday life into focus with approximately 20 sets of interactive exhibits organized around transport, living, and food. Visitors will have hands-on opportunities to test autonomous driving systems, discover Internet of Things applications, examine innovative green building materials, and explore emerging dietary technologies aimed at creating more convenient and sustainable lifestyles.
The InnoTech Gallery spotlights five transformative fields: quantum technology, materials technology, biotechnology, computers and AI, and robotics. The exhibition breaks down complex scientific principles—from quantum computing to advanced DNA editing—through accessible displays and cutting-edge applications.
Designed with educational value in mind, portions of the gallery align with Hong Kong’s senior secondary curricula in physics, biology, information and communication technology, and design and applied technology, making it a valuable resource for students and educators.
The AI Gallery will introduce visitors to the basic principles of AI, showcasing its integration with creative arts and Chinese culture, as well as its applications in healthcare and life sciences.
Visitors can engage with interactive exhibits such as AI-powered painting, music composition, chess playing and paper-scissors-stone games.
